Speedup of AAC files

The Presto Sound Library provides a Service so that any application can change the speed and pitch of MP3s/Oggs, provided the developer of that application has modified it to use Presto and the end user has Presto installed. It is currently in open beta.

Speedup of AAC files

Is there a technical limitation to speeding up AAC files, or is it solely a licensing concern? Could an addon be sold just to cover the license for AAC that we could install and add AAC support to Presto?

It's both, but mostly licensing. Presto needs a way to decode any file it alters the speed of. Right now that's all done in .so libraries within the application. I've kicked around putting something together that could be downloaded and installed separately, but I've never figured out the technical details of doing so. It's also adding another layer, which is risky. There's also the time factor: I don't have anywhere near enough time to dedicate to Presto, so a lot of stuff that should get done doesn't.
