Playback of TWiT Podcasts

The Presto Sound Library provides a Service so that any application can change the speed and pitch of MP3s/Oggs, provided the developer of that application has modified it to use Presto and the end user has Presto installed. It is currently in open beta.

Playback of TWiT Podcasts

Postby mole.moore » Wed Aug 10, 2011 1:36 am

Hello,
I love the idea behind your add-on, and I would LOVE to give you some money for it. However, the only podcasts I listen to are those provided by the TWiT network. (www.twit.tv)

I purchased your product, but it would not speed up these podcasts so I requested a refund. If you can get Presto to speedup those podcasts, or can show me how to, I would be more than happy to repurchase.

Chances are you're using the AAC version of TWiT. AAC is not supported because paying the license fees to support AAC would bankrupt the company. Patents on MP3 decoding have expired and Ogg Vorbis never had patent issues. AAC will not be supported while the patents apply (the first of which expires in 2022, and many more must expire before AAC can be fully legally implemented; alternately, if software ceases to be patentable in the US, support may be added).

The good news is, TWiT does provide an MP3 feed. Use that instead.
